
CHAPTER XXX – KEEP GOING
I am Jude. Kudos to all of you who are making the choice to Break Free from the self-limiting chains of your past! You have decided that you want more for yourself and you are taking responsibility for your life regardless of the circumstances. KEEP GOING!
Whether it’s confronting your fears, pursuing your purpose or getting in better mental/physical shape, you are making moves and I acknowledge your efforts to Be Better.
You may not have it all together yet. Perhaps it’s not even close.
But you have summoned the courage to enter the arena. You have undertaken action. DON’T STOP!
Develop more discipline, find sources of inspiration and continue wanting more for yourself.
It’s not without risk. In fact, failure is an immutable part of the process. However, setbacks also possess the seeds of subsequent success – if you persevere!
It is not the critic who counts;
not the man who points out how the strong wo/man stumbled,
or where the doer of deeds could have done better.
The credit belongs to the wo/man who is actually in the arena;
whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood;
who strives valiantly;
who errs and comes short again and again;
because there is no effort without error and shortcoming;

I have come to love this quote and the idea that it’s better to be doing something and fail, than to be doing nothing at all.
Thankfully, I have a growing network of friends, family, coaches and colleagues who are willing to fail forward. They are following through with their intentions and taking small incremental steps towards their dreams.

Don’t get me wrong, they are experiencing personal struggles and fits and starts along the way, but they are irreversibly committed to change. There is no going back.
I encourage you to continue striving for greater consistency, expecting more from yourself and demanding a high level of accountability. Take full responsibility for all of your behaviors and be impeccable with your word. Ask the question, what happens if I stop?
And remember that nothing goes unrecognized for long. Your efforts are being observed by the people within your circle of influence. You are inspiring others with every pound you lose, walk you take and fear you confront.
However, more importantly, I am hoping that YOU are aware and that you are honoring your everyday accomplishments.
So congratulations! Stay the course, remind yourself that if you want more, you need to be more and KEEP GOING! Your actions today are creating the stories you will tell tomorrow.

Positive Reflections – What’s Good?
I love early mornings. They are unquestionably my favorite time of the day.
There is nothing quite like the ever-changing collection of colors and clouds at daybreak.
They feature every conceivable hue and shape you can imagine and create beautiful portraits in the sky.
There is a unique peace and quiet that encourages openness, connection and gratitude.
Every morning is pregnant with promise and possibilities. They afford us with unique opportunities for change, redemption and new beginnings.
Getting up early allows us to begin the day with greater purpose and intention. It provides us with time to undertake the daily rituals that set us up for success.
It doesn’t matter if it’s exercise, focused breathing, journaling, building your business, organizing your day or simply having a quiet coffee, creating space for yourself in the mornings allows you to better appreciate this underrated blessing.
It helps you organize your thoughts, prioritize tasks and mentally prepare for whatever the day brings.
I have trained myself to get up and get moving as soon as my eyes open and my feet hit the floor. I better understand the value of time and the importance of starting my day right.
I challenge you to greet the mornings with more joy, grace and appreciation, if you already haven’t.
I recognize that sleep is important but consider this, if you get up an hour early, you get to LIVE an hour more and devote that time to your personal development.

Get Your Ass Outside!
I continue to encourage you to get outside as often as you can. There are the obvious mental and physical benefits. However, I also believe that it can become a spiritual practice with the right mindset and intentions.
A walk, a run, a hike or simply sitting outside with yourself, offer valuable opportunities to seek Quietude.
They allow you to stop and listen to what’s going on, both inside and out.
If you are open to it, the sights and sounds of nature can also encourage you to consider your relationship with the world and explore your connection to the universe.
I do not believe we need a mosque, church or synagogue to consider life’s Big Questions or to experience the Source(Creator, Allah or whatever term you use).
I am convinced that all that is required of us is openness, inward focus and an understanding that there is something bigger than you.
Being outside provides us with unique moments for peace and tranquility to clear our minds and get in touch with ourselves. However, that’s only IF we are able to disconnect from both our phones and our thoughts.
I appreciate the power of being outside. The sights and sounds of life trigger feelings of joy and gratitude and offer me respite from my mind.
I feel more connected and whole and generally experience more meaningful moments of clarity and Quietude.
I look forward to putting my shoes on every morning and getting after it. It’s peaceful, therapeutic and speaks to my soul.
As referenced in The Game of Thrones, ‘Winter is coming’. For the majority of Canadians, this means six months of cold, inclement weather and shorter days and longer nights.
This results in significantly more time inside where it is dry and warm – and unfortunately a lot less Vitamin D.
So if that’s that case, what are you waiting for? Get outside and utilize the time we have remaining to fill your cup before the snow starts to fly. I am Jude.
